What you need
Daybreak runs on iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later. Alarms need iOS 26 or later; on earlier versions your reminders arrive as notifications. Rep counting works best on a recent iPhone.
Alarms
- Turn an alarm on in You, then Reminders, then Ring an alarm under your morning or evening routine. iPhone asks once for permission to schedule alarms.
- When it rings, Snooze rings again in 9 minutes. Stop opens a check: start your routine, solve three easy sums, or do ten push-ups or twenty squats, counted on your phone. Until one is done, the alarm rings again a minute later.
- Test the alarm rings it 5 seconds later. Alarms can’t ring if your phone is off or out of battery, so keep a backup if waking up on time really matters.
Photo, video and rep checks
- Photos of things: fill the frame with what the habit is about, such as your glass of water or your made bed, in good light. If the check isn’t sure, it asks you to try again.
- Selfie checks (brushing, flossing, skincare): take the photo at arm’s length with your hand at your mouth or face.
- Video checks: prop the phone up so your whole body is in view and record 8 to 30 seconds. The clip is deleted right after.
- Push-ups: lean your phone against something on the floor about two metres to your side. After you tap Start counting you get 3 seconds to get in position.
- Squats: stand your phone up about two metres in front of you, head to feet in view.
Everything is checked on your phone. Photos, clips and camera frames are never uploaded.
Reminders
Daybreak sends at most two reminders a day: one for your morning and one for your evening, each skipped once that routine is done. Change them in You, then Reminders, or turn notifications off in Settings, then Notifications, then Daybreak.
Daybreak Plus
- New subscribers get 7 days free, then it’s $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the US (prices vary by country). It renews automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel: on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Daybreak. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you won’t be charged.
- New phone or reinstalled? Open You, then Daybreak Plus, and tap Restore purchases.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your account and sync
An account is optional. Sign in with Apple, Google or email, and your routines, habits, history and settings sync to it, so a new phone gets them back. Photos never sync. To delete your account, see Delete your account.
